MAIA International Workshop

June 11-13, 2012 La Coruña, Galicia, Spain

This technical workshop focused on the management of MPAs and was an important opportunity to discuss the results, proposal guideline and share approaches within MAIA partner countries. The key objectives for the workshop were:

• Share methods and experiences in designing MPAs management plans inside and outside Atlantic Arc.
• Exchange fieldwork experiences in the implementation of MPAs management measures being undertaken across partners in the MAIA area and other relevant cases.
• Share experiences focused in specific management issues in MPAs.

This MAIA International Workshop was organised by the University of A Coruña, jointly with Campus do Mar, and hosted in the Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza.

There was simultaneous translation into French, Spanish, and English which ensured that all delegates are able to fully participate in the discussions to support the production of best practice outputs.
