Latest news from the MAIA network:

On the 10th of May, OSPAR Heads of delegation will decide whether to use the MAIA database structure and model for the development of the OSPAR MPA database.
Pooling and development of the final system will be directed by the French MPA Agency (Agence) team. The final system administration will be done in cooperation by BFN (German Federal Agency in charge of MPAs within OSPAR framework) and the Agence.
MAIA initial project closed at the end of 2012, but the Interreg Secretariat validated our extension request until end 2013.
The year is dedicated to MAIA results enhancement.
The Agence, as the lead partner, will:
- Upload all the MAIA reports produced during the project, almost one hundred!
- Update the web site
- Facilitate an update of the MAIA database by contributors and partners
- Analyse and present the Atlantic arc MPA status and management effort implemented
- Will direct the pooling and development of the OSPAR and MAIA databases.
