The objectives of the workshop are:

  • Share international expertise on best practices on MPA monitoring strategies, covering: environmental aspects (e.g. biodiversity; habitat functioning) and socio-economics (fisheries and other activities);
  • Allow MAIA partners to briefly present relevant monitoring methodologies in use in their own countries;
  • Define common monitoring methodologies to allow comparisons of the performance between MPAs within the EU Atlantic Arc Area

This international workshop is coordinated by IPIMAR (PT) in the framework of MAIA European cooperation project.
